Laganas is a beach resort at the South of the island. The beach is sandy with lively bars and tavernas. Close by is the quieter Kalamaki Beach, which is a protected loggerhead turtles nesting ground. A wooden footbridge connects to the tiny, pine-covered Cameo Island, which has a small beach and beach bars.
